Two Good To Be True

Our shoot for the Summer/Fall 2010 issue of Phoenix Bride & Groom went so well, we were losing sleep until the 11th hour trying to choose our cover image. We just had to share the wonderful "runner up," which is also a fabulous photograph.

These images were shot by photographer Michael Fragale at his studio. "I envisioned capturing a timeless beauty shot with vintage appeal," says Michael. "I accomplished this in my studio setting by manipulating lighting and angles, while making sure my direction for the model was on point, thus extracting the emotion and feel that was necessary to make the shot 'cover worthy.'"

Makeup artist Corinna Cooke thoroughly enjoyed creating this look. "The dress was so soft and whimsical, it called for truly beautiful skin," she says. "I used Face Atelier's incredible Ultra Foundation balanced with Julie Hewett's cream blush and eternally beautiful Simone lipstick. The final look was both modern and ethereal."

Amanda Huffman drew her inspiration from legendary beauty Marie Antoinette. "When I saw the jewelry and gown from Destiny's Bride, it reminded me of a French vintage look. I decided to go for a whimsical loose updo, with soft curls and a beautiful feather hairpiece to add a touch of glam."

Petal Pusher's lush bouquet in royal purple hues photographed beautifully against the white gown. "With a background in costume design, the designers find inspiration can come from anywhere. When given the feel for the shoot, they thought of an antique jewelry box. With that in mind, they felt a jewel-toned bouquet would give the jewelry box that little extra 'pop'.
