Lucky in Love
Sometimes perfection just falls into place. Such was the case for Jennifer Medina and Brian Voytovich. "We were so very lucky to have met one another, having been unlucky in love [in the past]," explains Jennifer. The pair admits to almost giving up on finding true love.
But find it, they did. After dating two years, they became engaged in Jamaica, and immediately began planning their wedding. From that first day, says Jennifer, "we both excitedly threw out ideas of where to hold our wedding." They ultimately chose Sedona, not far from their homes in Southern California. "We decided on a smaller ceremony and thought it would be a wonderful gesture to our family who live in Arizona," recalls Jennifer.
Sedona Golf Resort appealed to their romantic sides, and the golf was a bonus. Says the bride, "It was the perfect location for my golf-loving finance, who hit up the course days before the wedding and the driving range the day of!"
Destination weddings can be tricky unless you have assistance from someone locally. In another stroke of luck, the pair collaborated with the team at Sedona Golf Resort to identify the vendors who would make their day a reality. "We were lucky to have everying within such close proximity," exclaims Jennifer, who had her hair and makeup done within walking distance of the resort.
The color scheme of ivory, black and burgundy was carried from the dramatic floral displays to the three-tier square wedding cake, reported as "the yummiest cake we've ever tasted!" The bride ethusiastically thanks the officiant, photographer and videographer for documenting their sentimental journey. The officiant "did an amazing job of capturing the tremendous amount of love and respect we have for one another."
"Nearly everyone says that having a smaller wedding is more meaningful and intimate, and they're right. Having our intimate ceremony in Sedona, we were able to celebrate one of the biggest days of our lives, surrounded by people who love us."
