Couples interested in beginning their married life in one of the world’s foremost destinations could end up in Jamaica, home to natural beauty and unsurpassed luxury. From world-class resorts to plantation homes, there is truly something for every taste. Immaculate white sand beaches, sparkling waterfalls and rivers, majestic mountains and magical gardens—the settings for weddings and honeymoons are as varied as the couples who come here.

One of our favorite places to enjoy the sweet life is at the gorgeous and friendly Half Moon resort near Montego Bay. The experts at Half Moon have mastered the art of the luxury experience over the past fifty years. From the romantic whitewashed seaside cottages to the indulgent spa offerings, no detail has been overlooked when it comes to the guests’ ultimate comfort. Isn’t that what destination weddings and honeymoons are all about?

Your destination wedding begins the minute you touch down at Montego Bay airport. Your gracious driver greets you immediately and escorts you to a private lounge as you wait for your baggage. Sipping a cool beverage, you realize that this is not an average vacation destination.

Since you mailed in your documentation long ago, you’re confident that the wedding coordinator at the resort has attended to all of the details of your wedding license. As you are shown to your room, the host informs you of the adventure opportunities ahead: hiking, and snorkeling, romantic horseback rides along the beach, and exhilarating jeep tours. Of course, staying in bed until noon is also a very appealing option. Just remember to peek outside from time to time— you won’t want to miss the breathtaking natural beauty of this heaven on earth.

Touring the grounds, your heart leaps knowing that you will soon be married to the love of your life in the most exquisite setting possible. Dinner is served at one of the resort’s renowned restaurants and you are set to begin the countdown to your wedding ceremony.

After dinner, it’s cocktails for the two of you on the sand, followed by a tranquil evening along the pearlescent shore. Toasting your upcoming marriage has never felt so good!

Excitement builds as guests begin arriving at your destination. The team of private butlers, chefs and bakers buzz about, readying your once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Is there time for an early morning boating excursion? Why not? Your gown, flown in from Phoenix, has already been pressed and delivered to your personal villa. Your groom beckons you to the serene water.

Just as the sun begins to set, your family and friends assemble along the beach. You aren’t the least bit nervous—you already feel like the luckiest woman in the world. The setting, surrounded by fragrant, exotic flowers, is overflowing with joy. After the wedding, emotion overcomes you and you dip your toes into the surf. Thankfully, you’ve flown in your dream photographer, who catches every last minute of your perfect day.
