Art and Soul

The Phoenix Art Museum proved to be the perfect combination of contemporary art and romance for Emily Delgado and Jack Gray, as they celebrated their wedding this October.
Surrounded by nearly two hundred family and friends, including their sisters who introduced the pair, Emily and Jack fashioned a wedding filled with love and warmth. The museum, of which the bride’s mother is a great supporter, provided a spectacular backdrop for the couple’s wedding photographs.

The sophisticated sculpture garden was the site of Emily and Jack’s ceremony, which was officiated by a close family friend. Says Emily, “Each of us wrote out own vows and gave them to the officiant without reading the other’s. That way, we were hearing each other’s vows for the first time during the actual ceremony.” The aisle was artfully bordered by oversized white planters and immense glass vases filled with floating candles, while the guests were seated in sophisticated black chairs.

Following the ceremony, guests dined and danced the night away in the Great Hall at the museum. The hall was beautifully transformed into a stylish club setting with white leather chairs and banquettes and sapphire blue and apple green accents. Blooming hydrangeas and orchids added romance to tabletops featuring apple green candles placed in high glass pillar holders. Crystal chandeliers provided drama overhead, while the walls offered modern art pieces for all to enjoy.

Event coordinator Charlee Geisler was credited with assisting the couple in creating the event’s romantic aesthetic. “She walked us through every step of the process, from choosing the band to interviewing the photographer, to picking out table linens. She took care of all of the details that would have slipped through the cracks had we not hired her.”

The presence of all four of the newlyweds’ grandparents made for a wonderful family event, which featured heartfelt toasts and an evening of dancing. As the newlyweds left the museum, guests showered them with love and rose petals.
